Chiki Tatsuya

The ambiance is just as the name describes, very Polynesian feel for sure. Well it took 18 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our presence, the food was good nothing I would crave, and being from Hawaii I was pumped about the homemade spam, it was good but nothing like the reviews were saying in my opinion. Drink were on a whole different level, the flavors were absolutely amazing balance of sweet n sours and Smokey, great drinks. It is definitely a place to bring a couple friends or a couples night to share some drinks and pupus.

What an immersive experience! We sat in the upstairs bar and our waiter really helped keep us in the experience. The food was all fantastic, presentation is a 15/10 for everything from the decor, plating, menus and of course the drinks. We had such a great time. Definitely worth ordering a larger group drink to witness the light and sound show. We are already trying to rope more people into coming back with us. Thank you for making our date night so special!

I have visited around 100 tiki bars in the country, some still around, others not so much. This spot gets my vote for one of the best, if not currently, the best tiki bar in the country. The service, drinks, food, and look of the bar are firing on all thrusters! Visited this spot on three different evenings. The staff was different each night, but the service and consistency of the drinks were equally amazing! This spot definitely uses a mixology approach to their cocktails, as fresh juices and syrups are made in-house daily. Traditional tiki drinks are served and tweeked a bit, adding or changing the ingredients, which adds more flavor or a different flavor, thus improving the cocktails! The food items on the menu are finger foods but go way beyond the traditional food items served in a tiki bar. Spam Masubi is a usual item served in a tiki bar, but this spot makes its own spam (no canned stuff), which makes it very flavorful! All the food items on the menu are prepared, served, and presented with care, and they are beyond the typical! Definitely try the crab dish and the Taro Tots! Larger servings (Pu Pu Platter) can definitely satisfy your hunger and will allow you to sample a variety of the food options offered. There are several Easter eggs within the location, paying homage to various pop culture films. If the location is not busy, perhaps a staff member can give you a tour. Rum is the main spirit used, but don't order a rum and diet coke or a vodka cranberry. Definitely be adventurous. There are two levels to the bar, so definitely check out both levels, as the same amazing experience is offered. There is a story to the bar, and a Sam Elliott sound alike tells the 15-minute tale in the restroom. 15 minutes in a restroom is awkward, so the story is available online. Definitely make reservations, just in case. If you're in the Austin area, this spot is a must! Fans of the tiki culture, it's a definite must. All will enjoy this spot. If you're looking for amazing people, great food, and cocktails accompanied by great service, definitely stop in and enjoy an escape to the tropics!

All I can say is I never knew this bar existed! Great place to go to escape the heat. Is a bit underground so was nice and cool. Can't say enough about the bartender. Very friendly and the tiki drink menu was well explained to us. We were able to try the SOS drink which was to be shared by 3 or 4 people. A big production was made about it when it was served. So much fun! Tried a couple other drinks as well. They do serve food but we had already eaten. Highly recommend making a reservation but we were able to sit at the bar as walk-ins. Doesn't look like much on the outside but don't let that deter you!

My wife took me here for my birthday and we had a great time! The service was fantastic, both in the restaurant and over the phone as we had to call due to having issues with the reservation site. Our server was really fun and helped make it a night to remember, helping us to pick the cocktails we would like and giving great recommendations for the food. We really loved the Jackfruit Kushikatsu and the Maguro Poke! We shared THE S.O.S. - STRANDED ON SATURN cocktail, and it was so tasty we almost wanted a second one, but ended up getting two server-selected cocktails (we trusted him that much!). The presentation of the various shareable drinks makes them worth the price. We would definitely go back again if we were back in Austin, and already have friends planning to come while on vacation here.
